To provide personnel for siege and heavy batteries] being formed, trained Royal Garrison Artillery officers, non- commissioned officers and men are urgently required at Home. It is considered that in view of reduction of moveable armament the following artillery garrison should suffice for your Command. Captains and over 11; subalterns 24; other ranks 839. Composition as follows:- British Royal Garrison Artillery, Captains and over 7; subalterns 6; other ranks 375. Other

Artillery personnel: Captains and over 4; suvalterns 18; other

ranks 464. Of this establishment it is considered that one-

third of each category of British R.G.A. might be made available | to come to United Kingdom, other ranks including a due propor- tion of non-commissioned officers. Telegraph whether it can be

arranged locally to replace this one-third of R. G.A. establish-

ment
